The Sleepy Dragon
There once/lived/was a little dragon named Sparky. He had/was/owned scales that sparkled/shimmered/shone like stars/gems/fireflies. But Sparky wasn't very good at breathing fire/smoke/steam. Instead, he loved to sleep/snuggle/nap.
Every/Sometimes/Always night, when the sun set/went down/disappeared, Sparky would curl up in his cave/nest/bed and drift off/fall asleep/close his eyes. He dreamed of flying/playing/eating yummy berries/fish/dragonflies.
One day/It happened/During a sunny afternoon, Sparky's mom said, "Sparky, you need to learn how to breathe fire! It's important for dragons!"
Sparky yawned/sighed/mumbled, "But Mom, I'm too sleepy!"
His mom smiled/chuckled/giggled. "Don't worry," she said. "We'll practice after your nap."
So Sparky took/had/went for a long nap/sleep/rest. When he finally woke up/stirred/opened his eyes, he felt more awake/energized/ready.
He took a deep breath and let out a tiny puff/blast/whoosh of fire! It wasn't very big, but Sparky was happy/proud/excited. He practiced/learned/tried all day long until he could breathe a big, bright/fiery/orange flame.
From then on, Sparky learned that even sleepy dragons can do amazing/powerful/wonderful things!
